Training children

I do not have a child yet but I remember how my parents raised me up. I love my parents for the very very things I hated them when I was growing up. I am glad that they did not let me have my way when I was young. I thank them for training and for correcting me. I thank them for saying “no” more often than they said “yes” to the things I wanted. I thank them for being strict. I thank them for the way they behaved themselves and how they treated others within the society. I did not just watch them but I imitated them. I paid more attention to what they did than what they said. It was easy to remember what I saw them doing than what they said I was supposed to do. I thank my father for taking full responsibility for all our financial needs. That is something that I am imitating today.

I am also grateful for the opportunity to go to church at a tender age of thirteen. I am grateful that even at church we were allowed to sit in the pews at the same time with the adults and listen to the gospel. I am glad that I had an opportunity to listen to the gospel that was being preached even to the adults and not the stories that most people read to children which to them sound like fairy tales. I gave my life to Jesus at the age of thirteen because of being involved with the adults and being allowed to listen to the gospel as it is. I was made to understand at a tender age the seriousness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I became so much afraid of sinning that even when the devil presented me with an opportunity to sleep with a girl I said no. I started at a tender age of thirteen to make decisions to stay away from all sorts of bad things for the fear of disappointing God and also for the fear of going to hell.

I am not perfect but I am grateful to God for the way I was raised. What seemed unfair or like abuse was in actual fact all working for my good. I am thankful that I was told about the enemy at a tender age and also equipped with the sword to fight the enemy. I am glad I was not treated like a child. I was told that there is a real enemy waiting to destroy my life and I was given a weapon (The Word of God ). A weapon that knows no age. When the devil came to my life to present beer, drugs, cigarettes and opportunities for sex he didn’t wait until I became an adult but he came when I was still a child. The devil used to sneak when my parents or teachers where not around but I had Jesus, the Word of God plus, the the fear of disappointing God….not only that, I was also afraid of going to hell because I had been told already that I would go there if I do something that does not please God. So I turned down the devil.

I hope that by sharing my story I am going to help a parent out there. A parent who wants her child to walk with Jesus and overcome the enemy. Many people today are blaming teachers and the devil for the things that they are actually responsible for. Some parents blame peer pressure. That is wrong. If children are taught about Jesus and trained well they can resist peer pressure. Just stop treating them like children when it comes to the Word of God and training. Children are in a better position to believe when the gospel is being preached than adults.

Please read the scriptures below. They save as confirmation of what I have just said.

Proverbs 22, 6: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Bible (KJV)

Hebrews 12, 11: Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Bible (KJV)

Game of chess

Life is like a game of chess. You may play your game very well but one wrong decision can cost you. One wrong move can make you lose the game instantly.

As you play the game you cannot see the thoughts of your opponent. As we live we cannot see the devil and his thoughts.

The bible says:

Ephesians 6, 12: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Bible (KJV) https://goo.gl/BNTEmZ

Therefore, it is important to rely on God inorder for us to win. God can see what we cannot see. He also has the power and ability to fight our battles and win.

The same bible also says:

Proverbs 3, 5: Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. Bible (KJV) https://goo.gl/BNTEmZ

Proverbs 3, 6: In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Bible (KJV) https://goo.gl/BNTEmZ

Proverbs 3, 7: Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. Bible (KJV) https://goo.gl/BNTEmZ

Proverbs 3, 13: Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. Bible (KJV) https://goo.gl/BNTEmZ

Proverbs 3, 14: For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. Bible (KJV) https://goo.gl/BNTEmZ

Enemies of Success

I would like to take this opportunity to talk about only three things that can stop someone on the road of success. They can prevent you from getting what you want in life or becoming who you should be. They can stop you from discovering who you really are. They can lock you up in the prison of poverty if you let them.

They could be more but I just want to bring to your attention the following three enemies of success:
Comfort, Fear and Pride.

Comfort

Do not allow yourself to become too comfortable to contemplate your next move. No one is invincible you can be replaced anytime no matter how good you are. So you must work hard to improve yourself and also plan for your future. Do not wait until you lose your job to start a new business. Business needs patience. It is very difficult to have patience if you lose your job unexpectedly. If you are running a business and are doing well do not relax. Competition can easily boot you out of business. Competition can come up with a better product or similar product at a better price. So you must not allow yourself to become comfortable as if it is illegal for other businesses to approach your customers with a better offer. You must think about and plan for the future.

Fear

Fear is one of the worst enemies of success and it can keep you in the prison of poverty until you die. Do not be afraid of failing or anything. Try and if you fail try again. Make up your mind never to stop trying until you make it. Your desire to succeed must outweigh your fear of failure. Develop and insatiable desire for success. Be courageous and resilient.

Pride

This is also one of the worst enemies of success. Pride can assassinate your dreams if you let it. You must not for any reason think that you are better than others. You must not let pride stop you from approaching others if you need help. You may find yourself in a situation where you need to cut your expenses inorder for you to meet your goals. You may need to park your car for days and use public transport. You may need to move into a less expensive apartment to save money for your business. You may need to sell your car and buy a less expensive model. You need to reach a certain point in life where you do not care what people say or think. There are times in life when you need to humble yourself and ask for advice or help from people that are supposed to be asking for your help or advice.

Stop judging…

God sees nothing wrong in turning sinners into believers and then use them in a mighty way to to fulfill His purpose. Moses and Paul are two good examples.

The problem is that human beings find it hard not only to accept such people but to believe that God can use them.

Even when they find themselves in a situation where they need divine interference, they expect God to send angels. If God sends someone with a pathetic history that they know about they refuse to accept them. They find it hard to believe that God can use such people.

She is neither a slave nor a beggar…She is a mother…a Queen

A woman can turn herself into a beggar just to get something to feed her child. A woman can turn herself into a slave for her slave master to feed her child. A woman can sell her house to send her child to school. A woman can stay in an abusive relationship for the sake of giving life to her child. A woman would rather feed her child and sleep on an empty stomach if the food was only enough for one person. She is a mother and you can count on her.

I want to believe that the love that a mother has for her child is not natural. It is divine. I believe that it is God Himself who planted that love within her heart to protect us. I believe that God loves us through our mothers also. There is no human that can love like mother unless God is working through and within her. This love has nothing to do with the nature of a person, whether one is Christian or not. If ever there is a woman who does not love her child in a manner that I have just explained then I blame it on the devil because love for a child is part of a woman’s nature according to the way in which God created a her.

What breaks my heart to pieces is what happens to her in the end. When the very people she sacrificed her life for grow up they leave her to fend for herself. What a pity. I see people spending money like there is no tomorrow when their mothers are struggling. People sacrifice their lives to please people who showed up in their lives when they had money already forgetting the ones who sacrificed their lives for them. Mothers. She is neither a slave nor a beggar. She is a mother. She is a queen. Let us treat her accordingly. Let no devil in hell divert your focus from doing that which is right. Treat your mother like a queen because she is a queen. No wonder why God in his word say the following.

Exodus 20, 12: Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Bible (KJV)

1 Timothy 5, 8: But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. Bible (KJV)

Meditate on these things

Philippians 4, 8: Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Bible (KJV)

This is what the word of God says and Satan knows that. Satan is our enemy and he constantly fights against us to prevent us from doing that which God expects us to do. Worry, fear and anger are three examples of emotions that divert our minds from meditation.

What do you do when you suddenly receive the news that your loved one is suffering from a chronic disease? What do you do when you are stuck in a traffic congested road and you know that you are already behind time? What do you do when another vehicle cuts right in front of you while driving? What do you do when a thief snatches your phone from your hand and run away. What do you do when you discover that you were cheated? What do you do when someone that you loved with all your heart finally tell you that they never loved you? What do you do when your loved one dies?

Philippians 2, 5: Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Bible (KJV)

We need God to help us. Jesus Christ faced worse challenges than what we are are facing yet He managed to keep His thoughts in the right place. Let us therefore, pray for that mind which was in Christ to be in us so that our minds may be filled with the things that Lord expects to fill our minds.

Purpose…

I believe that God created each one of us for a purpose. I believe that each one of us is designed specifically for the purpose God intended for him or her. Life can only be lived completely when one does what they were sent here to do. I therefore think that the first and most important thing is for one to know what to seek in life. We need to discover ourselves first. Knowledge of self will automatically lead you to your purpose.

God is your creator. He is the one who knows what He created and why. Seek God first. Once you find God then you will find yourself. God will introduce you to yourself.

Many people waste their lives trying to fit in when they are supposed to stand out.

Read your bible and pray. Seek God and He will reveal himself to you. The more you grow in knowledge of your creator the more you grow in knowledge of yourself.

The word of God need to be studied thoroughly if you are serious about knowing God.
